Received "the ldap server is unavailable" when running start-edgesynchronization
Hi all, I received a message when running start-edgesynchronization "the ldap server is unavailable". I have looked around but unable to find any solution. The firewall is disabled on the DC,MBX and Edge server. These 3 servers are in a test lab and there are no physical firewall between them.

Hi, 1. Please verify if we can Telnet to ports 50636 & 50389 from the hub transport server. 2. Please check the event log to see if any certificate related event(10214) has been logged there. Besides, please try to follow the steps below to remove and new edgesubscription. 1. Run remove-edgesubscription and 2. Restart Active Directory topology service. 3. Run new-edgesubscription -filename "logpathname". 4. Restart Active Directory topology service on HUB. 5. Please import the subscription file and the start synchronization using Start-EdgeSynchronization command. Also we can run Test-edgesynchronization to check the issue. Regards, Xiu

Hi all, Thanks for the help. I will give this a go tomorrow but I was pretty sure that I am unable to telnet on HT server to port 50389 even with the firewall disable. I am able to telnet to port 50389 on the Edge ( I'm sure it because of the ADLDS). These 3 servers are running W2K8 so I am confused to what is stopping HT from telnetting to the ports. This is in my test lab so 3 VM guests on the same host.
